Vacancy - Private Client, Residential Conveyaning, Business/Commercial and/or Civil Court/Family Law Solicitor (June 2023)

We currently have a vacancy for one or more solicitors with experience of handling some or all of private client, residential property, business/commercial and/or civil court matters (with an emphasis on family law).

We are seeking one or more candidates to work on either a full-time or a part-time basis to handle all aspects of:

(a) private client work (with an emphasis on wills, powers of attorney and executries, and residential conveyancing),

(c) business/commercial work (with an emphasis on corporate transactional work) and/or

(d) civil court work (with an emphasis on family law),

at a busy town centre firm. The successful candidate(s) does not need to have experience of all the foregoing matters but would require to demonstrate knowledge and experience in the particular area for which they are applying. A working knowledge of employment law would be helpful but not essential. All levels of experience from newly qualified to partner level will be considered. Good prospects for the successful candidate(s).

Extensive refurbishment of office completed

We are pleased to report that the extensive refurbishment of our office building at 37 Kirk Wynd, Kirkcaldy has now been completed. The "skin" of the 200 plus year old building has been largely replaced with an emphasis on reinstating aspects of the building into its original state. One of the gable walls was partially rebuilt, the harling on the building replaced and all of the windows and guttering refurbished. The decorative features were also overhauled and re-fabricated where necessary.

Charles Wood & Son have occupied this building for over 50 years and we hope that with the refurbishment it will remain wind and watertight for at least another 50 years.
