Vacancy - Civil Court Solicitor (November 2024)

We currently have a vacancy for a solicitor with experience of handling litigation/civil court matters.

We are seeking a candidate to work on either a full-time or a part-time basis to handle all aspects of civil court work (possibly with an emphasis on family law) at a busy town centre firm.

The successful candidate would require to demonstrate knowledge and experience in all apsects of litigation/civil court. Good knowledge of family law matters would be preferable, and a working knowledge of employment law would be helpful but not essential.

All levels of experience from newly qualified to partner level will be considered but the role would better suit a candidate with at lest 4 years PQE who can handle cases autonomously from initial instruction through to conclusion. Good prospects for the successful candidate. Remuneration dependent on experience (fixed salary and/or percentage of fees if preferred).

Extensive refurbishment of office completed

We are pleased to report that the extensive refurbishment of our office building at 37 Kirk Wynd, Kirkcaldy has now been completed. The "skin" of the 200 plus year old building has been largely replaced with an emphasis on reinstating aspects of the building into its original state. One of the gable walls was partially rebuilt, the harling on the building replaced and all of the windows and guttering refurbished. The decorative features were also overhauled and re-fabricated where necessary.

Charles Wood & Son have occupied this building for over 70 years and we hope that with the refurbishment it will remain wind and watertight for at least another 70 years.
